SOUTH CITY REVIVAL

COUNTRY ROCK & ROLL / ALT-COUNTRY / AMERICANA

LYRICS

It’s the changin’ of the seasons
It’s gotta be the reason
I’m feeling sore

People give me the best advice
Put your foot in the door, kid and don’t ya think twice
How could you ask for more?

Spend my nights wonderin’
How it’s gonna be

Well I know you’re thinkin’ of me but I’ve got big plans
Tour around the country in a beat up van
Hit the ground runnin’, make a lot of money
Yeah, I wanna be the singer in a country band

Remember how it used to feel
When them nights were long and love was real
And we thought we could rule the world

Near the point of no return
No lookin’ back, no time to burn
Boys, we gotta hit the road

Spend my days dreamin’ about
The stars we’re gonna be

Well I know you’re thinkin’ of me but I’ve got big plans
Tour around the country in a beat up van
Hit the ground runnin’, make a lot of money
Yeah, I wanna be the singer in a country band

I met a man, most of his life was through
I seen the pain and regret in his eyes
He told me son, you gotta do what you gotta do
Every man must answer his own call

Well I know you’re thinkin’ of me but I’ve got big plans
Tour around the country in a beat up van
Hit the ground runnin’, make a lot of money
I wanna be the singer in a country band

Here I am
Well, I wanna be the singer in a country band

PRESS RELEASE

With their latest release, "Singer In a Country Band", South City Revival continues to refine what the South Side band is referring to as "Chicago Country". The new single is a quintessential blend of country and rock and roll that demonstrates their diverse influences: from Red Dirt artists such as Reckless Kelly and Randy Rogers Band to Bruce Springsteen and Jackson Browne.

The lyrics address the pursuit of happiness in the face of the ever-ticking hands of time. The song is equal parts serious meditation and cheeky observation as it presents a young musician with a head full of glamorous hopes and dreams being faced with a not-so-glamorous road to get there.

South City Revival is:
Joe Pacelli (Vocals/Acoustic Guitar)
John Quinn (Electric Guitar)
Brendan Linnane (Pedal Steel)
Pino Perez (Drums)
Mike Fitzgerald (Bass)

BIO

Penning songs with an introspective take on country music,
South City Revival blends country, rock & roll, and rhythm &
blues into a unique, high energy sound. The quintet met in
the parking lot of a Western Ave. bar and agreed they wanted to

write songs like Townes Van Zandt and play shows like Bruce
Springsteen. They asked each other "what does Chicago country
sound like?" -- A question that has shaped the sound and
aesthetic of South City Revival since its formation.

In 2017, SCR teamed up with Chicago studio guru Mike Hagler
(Wilco, My Morning Jacket, Waco Brothers) to record their self-titled,
debut EP at his Humboldt Park Studio. The release features a
captivating blend of story driven songwriting and high energy
studio performances.
